Ms. Caroline

Hi! My name is Caroline and I’m originally from Richmond, VA. I graduated from the University of Virginia in 2024 with a B.A in English, and decided to move west to travel after. I spent a season working in Yellowstone before finding and falling in love with Crested Butte. I’ve babysat throughout high school and college and have always adored working with children, so I’m very excited to be starting my teaching career at Little Red! Outside of teaching I love hiking, mountain biking, paddle boarding and skiing, basically anything that gets me outdoors! I’m truly grateful to get to watch kids grow in such a beautiful area and community.

Ms. Anna

Hi there! I grew up in Littleton and moved to the valley in 2020 (for husband and fur babies) after completing my BS Integrative Healthcare at MSU Denver. On top of lifestyle medicine, I studied the physiological and psychological benefits of nature and mindfulness for young ones. I am passionate about children (and all humans) reconnecting with the natural world and reclaiming their power in the art of noticing. Early in my teens I started babysitting and in college I worked at Castle Pines Academy and nannied. I’ve always felt very grateful to become so close with my amazing families and am still close with them. Growing up my favorite show/inspiration was Super Nanny because of the way she supported families and lead them to balance and re-connection. Now I’m a certified Colorado Shines preschool teacher and focus on sharing my love and joy for life with children and families- witnessing them grow and thrive is such a gift!

Ms. Chloe

Hi! My name is Chloe and I have lived in Crested Butte for most of my life. I am so thankful I got the chance to grow up in such an amazing and beautiful place. Once I finished high school I moved to San Diego to study elementary education at San Diego State University. I loved the new experience of living in a big city, but after 2 years I realized how much I missed the community here and having family close by so I moved back to teach full time. I have always loved working around kids and when I was younger I spent many years as a teachers aide in school and babysitting. Now I have been working with mainly ages 3 months to 2 years for almost 4 years and I absolutely love it. Outside of teaching I love being outdoors, skiing in the winter, finding new ways to be creative, and spending more time with family now that I’m back home! I am so grateful to be doing what I love in such an amazing place!

Hey ya’ll!

My name is Sherry.   I’m originally from the Mississippi Delta (Greenville, MS), but lived in Birmingham, AL for the past 25 years.

I completed my undergraduate degree at The University of Mississippi (Ole Miss), then received my master’s degree in Elementary Education from University of Alabama in Birmingham, AL.

I taught kindergarten for 10 years, but my passion was being a part of a nonprofit preschool called PreSchool Partners in Birmingham, AL for the past 15 years.  I taught in both the 3s and 4s classroom.  I recognize even the youngest children love to be active in their learning. I believe it’s important to understand the way each child learns, so they can become confident in themselves and independent learners. I love that LRS encourages this type of learning.

I’ve  been married to my husband Tanner for 22 years and have 2 very active teenage boys,  John Tanner and Walker.  I truly love my daily walks with my bird dog Roxie.  I also enjoy yoga, mountain biking, fishing, skiing and camping with my family.   I’m thrilled to be living in beautiful Crested Butte and working at the best preschool in the valley.

Hi my name is Kerri Councilman. I was born and raised here in Crested Butte. However spent my sophomore and junior year of high school in Corpus Christi Texas. I returned for my senior year and graduated in 2007. I then went to Western State College were I studied chemistry and English with an emphasis in creative writing. My interest in teaching came from a young age when I aided in classrooms with children from 1st to 4th grade. I’m currently working on getting my CBA in early education. Outside of school my passions are art (which I do like to bring in the classroom) cooking, skiing and anything outside. I feel it’s a privilege to be able to teach children in the town I grew up in because this place is truly special and I’m happy to be able to share it.

HI! My name is Mary. I’m a Colorado native from Boulder. I grew up in Boulder and spent a lot of time traveling the world with my family. My mom is a middle school teacher and my dad is a retired professor for the University of Colorado. Because of them, I have always been interested working in education with the younger age groups. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Adult Fitness and Exercise Science from Metropolitan State University in Denver. I worked in Montessori for 5 years before joining the Boulder Journey School Teacher Education Program, and received my degree in Educational Psychology with a focus in Early Childhood Education and the Reggio Emilia Approach to Education from University of Colorado. While in the program I visited a few of the original ECE schools in Reggio Emilia, Italy. I have worked with groups aging from infants to kindergarten for the past several years. I have always been passionate about young children and their desire to learn. Currently I am living in Gunnison Valley with my husband and 2 boys, Riker and Ridley. We love living in Colorado! In my free time I enjoy being outside, spending time with my family, and watching my boys grow.
